Bonham Prestige – Wedding Photography FAQs
Where are you based?
We travel across the UK and occasionally abroad for our Destination Wedding offering.
Do you take group photos as a documentary photographer?
Yes, we do take group photos, but these must be planned in advance. We recommend keeping group shots to a minimum to ensure they don’t detract from the couple’s personal shots or the natural, candid photography our clients book us for. Allow approximately 2-3 minutes per group for smooth organisation.
How do we book?
A non-refundable booking fee of 30% of the total package price, along with a completed contract, is required to officially secure your date. The remaining balance is due 8 weeks before the wedding day.
How long are you on site?
We are typically on-site from bridal preparations until the first dance, unless additional time has been booked in advance. Please let us know if you’d like us to extend coverage to include late-night festivities, such as fireworks or evening celebrations.
How many photos will we receive?
We guarantee a minimum of 400 images, though most weddings receive more. Every wedding is unique, so the final number may vary.
Do we own the copyright to the photos?
Legally, the copyright of the images remains with the photographer. However, you are granted full reproduction rights to print and share your photographs. This means you can use them personally, but commercial use or modifications require prior consent.
How do we receive our photos?
You’ll receive an online gallery where you can download high-resolution digital files and order prints if desired.
How large are the final photographs?
The photographs are delivered in high resolution, suitable for large prints or wall art.
Are the photographs watermarked?
No, your photographs will not include any watermarks.
Can we print the photos ourselves?
Yes, absolutely! We encourage printing your photos. For the best results, we recommend using one of the professional photo labs we can suggest.
Can we buy an album after the wedding?
Yes, there’s no rush to order an album before the big day. Many couples choose to purchase one as a keepsake for their first anniversary.
What happens if you’re ill on our wedding day?
We’ve never missed a wedding yet! It would require a very severe illness or unavoidable family emergency for us to not attend. In such a case, we have a network of trusted professional photographers who can step in at short notice. We also carry professional indemnity and liability insurance for added peace of mind. To further safeguard your day, we recommend securing wedding insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.
Do you need to visit our venue beforehand?
No, as experienced photographers, we adapt to any location and base our decisions on the light and conditions on the actual day. While we always research your venue beforehand, prior visits are not essential.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured with Public Liability and Professional Indemnity coverage.
Do you have backup equipment?
Absolutely! We carry three cameras, multiple lenses, and other essential gear to ensure all bases are covered.
Are our photos backed up?
Yes, your photos are backed up at every stage. Images are recorded to two memory cards, backed up to a hard drive during the wedding breakfast, and again to a second hard drive and cloud storage upon return home. That’s four layers of backup to keep your memories safe.
When will we receive our photographs?
We pride ourselves on meticulous editing. On average, turnaround is 4-6 weeks, though this may extend slightly during peak wedding season. You’ll receive a link to our editing queue to track progress.
Do we need to feed you on the day?
It’s very kind if you can provide a meal. Weddings are long days with few breaks, so warm food is much appreciated. If it’s not possible, just let us know, and we’ll bring our own.
Additional FAQs
Can you work with videographers?
Yes, we often work alongside videographers and collaborate to ensure both photography and videography run smoothly. If you have hired a videographer, let us know in advance so we can coordinate on the day.
What if it rains on our wedding day?
We love working in all weather conditions! Rain can create dramatic and romantic shots. We’ll bring umbrellas and adapt our shooting style to make the most of the day. For group shots, we’ll find a suitable indoor location if needed.
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?
Yes! Engagement sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. These sessions can also be a wonderful addition to your wedding story.
Do you offer packages for smaller weddings or elopements?
Yes, we offer bespoke packages for intimate weddings and elopements. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements, and we’ll create a tailored quote.
Can family members or friends take photos during the wedding?
Of course! We just ask that they avoid interfering with key moments, especially during the ceremony or formal shots, to ensure we can capture the best images for you.
What happens if the wedding runs late?
We understand that timelines can shift. If you’d like us to stay beyond the agreed hours, we can accommodate additional coverage at £250 per hour, payable before the delivery of your images.
Do you photograph destination weddings?
Yes, we are happy to travel for destination weddings. Additional travel and accommodation costs will be agreed upon in advance.
Can we customise a photography package?
Absolutely. We understand that every wedding is unique and can tailor our services to suit your needs. Let us know what you’re looking for, and we’ll create a bespoke package.
Do you photograph same-sex weddings?
Yes, we proudly photograph all types of weddings and celebrations of love.
What should we wear for our engagement shoot?
We recommend wearing outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. Neutral or pastel tones photograph well, and coordinating (but not matching) outfits can add a cohesive look to your images.
